- Sounds to me like you have downloaded a picture that is
- UUencoded. This means that (obviously a JPEG is stored in a binary
- format file) the binary file is encoded into just plain ASCII characters
- (which usually almost doubles its size) for simple mail transmission
- through the Internet. What you need to do is find a UUdecode program
- to decode the message/file and save it to your hard drive in binary
- form. Then you can view it with your view program.
